Our Philosophy

Our Vision

Knowing that many of those we serve face an array of life challenges, we strive to offer a holistic and compassionate approach to relieve suffering of the mind, body and soul, whether it is through a smile, a listen, or a hand to hold.

We recognize suffering doesn’t stop at the body,
and that’s why we offer more than just treatment.
We give patients a shoulder to lean on.

It’s important to us to foster harmony in our world and to relieve one another in the face of suffering brought on by disaster and hardship.

Our Mission

We provide patient-centered medical care with compassion to underprivileged individuals regardless of religion, age, gender, ethnicity or ability to pay.

Our founder, Dharma Master Cheng Yen, once said:

Among the eight sufferings of life, illness is the most painful. With the aim of patient-centered medical care that respects patients as teachers, Tzu Chi’s medical staff will shoulder the responsibility of caring for people’s lives and must ensure proper care of the body, mind, and soul of the patients.

We will go forward in our commitment to heal as many underserved communities around the world as we can—with as much heartfelt diligence and compassion as possible.
